Dreamfinder is coming BACK to Epcot, and Figment gets to keep him this time, and they're finally updating Spaceship Earth too! Both of these landed at the end of the D23 Experiences show on August 15.
Journey Into Imagination is getting reimagined with Dreamfinder and Figment together again (that's the pair from 1983 to 1998), and Thomas Mazloum told the room they heard people on this one. No timeline. No close date. Theme Park Insider says it's an animatronic Dreamfinder. That's it so far.
Neil Patrick Harris hosted dressed as Dreamfinder with a Figment plush, and that does NOT mean he's the new voice. Nobody confirmed that. Screamscape wondered about it, and honestly I get why, but it is still just a guess.
Spaceship Earth hasn't been redone since 2008, so almost 20 years, and they're shifting the story from communication to human connection and adding new stuff through every scene while keeping the trip through time. Crazy! Imagineer Ali Rubinstein announced it with Mark Rober standing there. No close date on this one either, and this is not the 2019 version that COVID sat on.
I can't wait to see Dreamfinder back in that pavilion.
